Layto

Layto was the head servant and attendant of Oyette, holding a position of authority among the household staff. Due to the demands of this role, Layto was typically too busy to engage in conversation with lower-ranking servants, instead relaying Oyette's orders to those beneath them, such as Cappa.

Role in The Blood of Giants

In The Blood of Giants, Layto appeared briefly in connection with a request made by Rhys. Layto woke the narrator—Marina du Willet—to inform her of Rhys's request, having first obtained permission from Oyette to grant Marina leave to visit him. After delivering this message and allowing Marina in, Layto departed.
