This section reveals events from “The Steam Knight 2”.
Description
In The Steam Knight, McRose was described as elegant, with a round face. Upon her arrival at the Rislandian court, she wore a long flowing dress the same color green as Princess Reina's, prompting her to remark, "Well, it seems green's the fashion." She arrived accompanied by a retinue of guards dressed in suits with top hats who carried concealed pistols.
Role in The Steam Knight
In The Steam Knight, Ambassador McRose arrived at the court of King Malaky XVI as the representative of King Eakin of Atrebla. She had been sent with one mission: to obtain Rislandia's airship technology for King Eakin's use in travel. She stated plainly, "I'm afraid I was sent here with one mission."
During her visit, McRose raised several matters of diplomatic significance. She mentioned the annual gathering in Edmon that Rislandia had missed, and inquired about the return of Baron Theodore von Monocle, describing him as either the greatest adventurer who ever lived or the wiliest devil. She informed King Malaky XVI that King Eakin would not be sending armed forces. She also noted the presence of goblins along Atrebla's northern countryside near Zarma, and demonstrated awareness of the Wyranth soldier serum. McRose additionally implied the possibility of a marriage between Princess Reina and King Eakin's son, and criticized King Malaky XVI for granting nobles their airships.
At dinner, McRose dabbed a napkin on her lips and preferred to retire early. She was impressed by Dr. von Breech's flashlight but refused all other offers made to her, including the proposal of Princess Reina accompanying her back to Atrebla. Having received no agreement on airship technology, she stood and announced she would return to Atrebla empty-handed, snapped her fingers to order her guards to retrieve her things, and departed. Before leaving, she complimented Princess Reina as quite lovely and praised Rislandia's accommodations, stating she would inform King Eakin of Rislandia's hospitality. She departed to the east guest wing in the company of Matthias du Gearsmith.
