Mine Serum Machine

The Mine Serum Machine was an automated device located in a mine cavern beside a giant blob pit, capable of filling vials with giant's blood serum. In The Fight for Rislandia, it was later rigged by Rhys and Harkerpal to also produce anti-serum.

Mine Serum Machine

The Mine Serum Machine (also referred to as "the assembly line," "the contraption," and "the device") was a mechanical apparatus used for the automated production of Giant's Blood Serum. It was situated in a mine cavern adjacent to a giant blob pit.

Description

The machine was a substantial contraption fitted with gauges, gears, and pipes protruding from its exterior. A control board with knobs allowed an operator to start and stop its operation. When running, the machine produced steam and emitted the sound of gears grinding internally.

The table beside the machine functioned as a conveyor when the device was activated. During operation, the machine dispensed Giant's Blood Serum—a blue liquid—into individual vials, and a mechanical arm descended for each vial to insert a cork stopper. As described in The Fight for Rislandia:

"The device shook, and I heard the sound of gears grinding against each other inside of it. The table beside it turned into a conveyor, and the device spat out the blue giant's blood into vials."

When discovered, the machine was in its off position.

Role in The Fight for Rislandia

In The Fight for Rislandia, the machine was found inactive in the mine cavern next to the giant blob pit. Rhys subsequently stopped the machine by twisting a knob on its control board. Afterward, Rhys and Harkerpal worked together to rig the device so that it would also produce Counter-Serum in addition to its standard output of giant's blood serum.

Related Technology

The Mine Serum Machine was directly associated with the production of Giant's Blood Serum and, after modification, the Counter-Serum. Its location near the Blue Blob Creature pit suggests a connection between the blob creatures and the serum production process.
