Tyree
Tyree was a soldier of the Wyranth Empire assigned to guard duty in the Wyranth dungeon. He is notable for his role in the imprisonment of [Zaira von Monocle] and for his fatal confrontation with [James Gentry] during the dungeon rescue depicted in [For Steam and Country].
Overview
Tyree served as a dungeon guard within the Wyranth Empire's military apparatus. Following the discovery of note-passing activity involving Zaira von Monocle's cell, Tyree was stationed permanently near her cell and took regular shifts walking in front of it, serving as a dedicated watch over the prisoner.
Description
Tyree was described as stronger and more muscular than James Gentry, suggesting a physically imposing figure well-suited to guard work.
Role in For Steam and Country
In [For Steam and Country], Tyree's assignment to Zaira's cell came as a direct consequence of the discovery of note-passing, indicating that dungeon authorities considered him a reliable and capable guard for a high-priority prisoner.
During the rescue operation mounted to free Zaira, Tyree engaged James Gentry in armed combat. He charged from deeper within the dungeon with his sword already drawn:
"Tyree charged from deeper into the dungeon, his sword already drawn."
Despite his superior physical strength, Tyree slipped in a puddle of urine on the dungeon floor, losing his footing. James Gentry exploited this moment and cut him deeply in the shoulder. Tyree then fell, striking his head on the stone floor, and died from the injury. Following his death, one of the commandos took his keys, which presumably aided the rescue party in navigating the dungeon.
