Loveridge Inn
The Loveridge Inn was an inn situated in the town of Loveridge. It served as a lodging establishment offering private rooms and a common dining area to its guests.
Description
At least one of the inn's guest rooms contained an iron-framed bed with a plush mattress, curtains, and a full-length mirror. As Zaira von Monocle recalled upon waking: "I sat up in the iron-framed bed of the Loveridge Inn." The inn also featured a common area with a long table, used by guests for shared meals.
Role in For Steam and Country
In For Steam and Country, Matthias du Gearsmith arranged lodgings at the Loveridge Inn several days in advance by post in preparation for the party's stay in Loveridge. During the visit, Harkerpal was observed eating breakfast at the long table in the common area when Zaira von Monocle came downstairs.
Loveridge Tavern
The Loveridge Tavern was the sole tavern in Loveridge. It was a distinct establishment from the Loveridge Inn.
Description
The tavern was constructed of large round logs stacked upon one another, with an A-frame ceiling and log beams across the top. Its interior featured several tables and a long wooden bar. A stuffed bear head was mounted at the entrance, described as "a stuffed head of a bear, growling at all of us inside."
Role in The Steam Knight
In The Steam Knight, the Loveridge Tavern served as a drinking establishment for Wyranth soldiers stationed in the area. Two nights before James Gentry and Ethan von Lantern arrived in Loveridge, a feral serum addict attacked the commandant at the tavern. The establishment later became the site of a brawl between Vance and James Gentry.
