Description

The Wyranth Airship encountered in For Steam and Country bore a striking resemblance to The Liliana, described as appearing to be a mirror image of that vessel. As Zaira von Monocle observed upon first sighting it: "I backed inside the cabin, watching as it came into full view as a mirror image of the Liliana."

Origins

Zaira von Monocle theorized that this vessel was one of the original airships belonging to the Grand Rislandian Army fleet that had at some point gone missing. Her belief was that the vessel had been recovered and repaired by the Wyranth Empire, which would account for its close resemblance to The Liliana.

Role in For Steam and Country

The Wyranth Airship intercepted and attacked The Liliana over the ocean. The engagement involved the firing of cannonballs at The Liliana, followed by a boarding action in which Wyranth Military soldiers swung on ropes and jumped across to the opposing vessel.

The encounter was historically notable as the first airship-versus-airship combat ever recorded. Zaira von Monocle observed that the Wyranth were unskilled at aerial battle, a circumstance consistent with this being an entirely unprecedented form of warfare for all parties involved.
