This page collects the smaller places that appear only in the Rislandia short stories. Places with a larger role have their own pages: Greenhorne, Stanley Estates, Loveridge and the Islands of Fae.
Yountdale
Yountdale is the mountain castle of Duke Wesley Yount in How Baron Von Monocle Named His Airship. It is one of the biggest coal-producing areas in the land. By author ruling, the place where the airship was named is High Mesa Castle; Yountdale is treated as an earlier name for it.
The Fae island
The Fae island is the unnamed island that the Liliana approaches in Island of the Fae. The ship comes in close, and the commandos wade ashore through shallow surf. Its inhabitants, the Fae, hold Count Eberle's son. See also Islands of Fae.
The Loveridge pub
The Loveridge pub is a tavern in Loveridge, "down the street". Harkerpal told Edwin about it. Edwin invites Lieutenant Colwell, who declines because of a vow to his wife, so Edwin goes alone. It is the setting of the opening of Tangled Web: here Major Edwin Ral meets Thesally and hears her claim that "Theodore von Monocle is dead." Loveridge has no gas lamps.
Dr. Metzengerstein's barn and estate
Dr. Metzengerstein's estate lies in the forest outside Loveridge. A creaking gate and a dirt path lead to two buildings: a small, quaint house (the doctor's "primary residence") and an old barn. Thesally says the estate belongs to Dr. Metzengerstein, who "has been helping people upgrade themselves for years" and lets her use the barn. In Tangled Web she lures Edwin to the barn, and it burns down during his escape.
The Greenhorne–Loveridge road
The Greenhorne–Loveridge road runs through the forest between Greenhorne and Loveridge. The army marches along it in The Neverending War.
The army encampment near Greenhorne
The army encampment near Greenhorne is the Grand Rislandian Army camp in The Neverending War, including its medical tent.
Traveler's Rest
Traveler's Rest is a coastal place. In City Duty, James Gentry has heard rumours that Nightmen ships were spotted "in the bay north of Traveler's Rest".
The knights' courtyard and the palace roof
The knights' courtyard and the palace roof are in Rislandia City. In City Duty, James Gentry spars with Albert using practice swords in the knights' courtyard, while most knights are deployed to the coast. That night he fights the Nightman assassin on the steep tiled palace roof above a stone courtyard. The assassin's dagger falls into that courtyard.
