Wyranth Capital Riot
The Wyranth Capital Riot, also referred to as the peasant revolt by some imperial observers and as the small rebellion in later accounts, was a large-scale public disturbance organized by the Wyranth Underground Resistance and carried out in the industrial district of the Wyranth Empire's capital. It represented the resistance's first open, public action against the reign of Ivan, the Iron Emperor.
Overview
In The Iron Wedding, the riot was described as a deliberate effort to create a scene that could not be ignored, staged specifically where Ivan, the Iron Emperor would be present. Hundreds of participants dressed in dark clothes and black masks flooded the industrial district, pushing, screaming, and yelling. The event was later characterized by Princess Kristina as "the awful peasant revolt."
The resistance's own account of the action stated: "Today marked our first public action in causing a riot where the Iron Emperor would be."

Description
The riot unfolded in the industrial district of the Wyranth capital. Participants numbered in the hundreds, all concealed in dark clothing and black masks. During the chaos, men among the crowd threw rocks at Zaira von Monocle and Ivan, the Iron Emperor. Ivan had no security personnel present at the time.
In response, Ivan deployed automatons from a nearby factory to suppress the uprising. Bullets fired during the confrontation ricocheted off the automatons, and people were killed in the violence. Ivan subsequently captured some of the rioters for interrogation.

Role in The Iron Wedding
In The Iron Wedding, the riot served as a pivotal moment for multiple parties. For the Wyranth Underground Resistance, it marked their emergence as a public force of opposition to imperial rule. For Ivan, the Iron Emperor, it demonstrated both the growing threat of organized dissent and the utility of his automatons as instruments of crowd suppression.
The chaos of the riot was also exploited by Jacin, who used the disorder as cover to capture Zaira von Monocle, making the event consequential beyond its immediate political dimensions.
